The Baton Rouge Area Foundation, with $563 million in assets at year-end 2012, is the community foundation for the capital region of Louisiana. The Foundation connects philanthropists with worthwhile nonprofits to meet the needs of communities. Our donors support arts, health and medical organizations, human service groups, education programs and environmental programs. Over nearly fifty years, the Foundation has granted more than $300 milllion. We also invest in and manage pivotal projects that change the community. Our projects include building the Shaw Center for the Arts and creating The Water Institute of the Gulf. Our Plan Baton Rouge initiative spearheaded downtown revitalization and is working to revive an inner-city neighborhood between LSU and downtown.
